Overview

The Dooars or Duars are the alluvial floodplains in eastern-northeastern India and southern Bhutan that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Hasimara/NJP/Bagdogra to Jaldapara

From any of the pickup points like Hasimara, NJP or Bagdogra airport, you will be first greeted by our officials and then transferred to Jaldapara. Nestled beside the iconic Jaldapara National Park, Jaldapara is a small village known for its complete serenity and the numerous wildlife. You will reach the resort at Jaldapara within 3 hours from NJP or Bagdogra whereas, from Hasimara, it will take about 30 minutes. After reaching your resort at Jaldapara, freshen up to have some rest. The remaining day can be enjoyed by strolling around the nearby places or at leisure. In the afternoon, you have to collect the tickets for the next day’s Jungle Safari. A guest has to get their own tickets as per the rule of the Government (Note: Arrangement of Jungle Safari is subjected to availability of ticket) Finally, after dinner, overnight stay at Jaldapara.

Day 2: Jungle Safari, Sightseeing at Phuentsholing & Transfer to Lataguri

After an early morning breakfast go for a Jungle Safari at Jaldapara. While having the Safari through the thickly wooded forest, you can spot various wild animals like Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros, barking deer, peacock, bison, wild elephants etc. Moreover, birds like Bengal Florican, Sambar, Hornbill can also be sighted here. Get back to the resort again and then drive towards Phuentsholing, a town in Bhutan quite adjacent to India. Reach Phunetsholing after covering a driving distance of 30 km within one hour. Visit its sightseeing places like the Crocodile Breeding Centre named Amo Chhu and the wish-fulfilling Karabandi Monastery here. Post sightseeing, have lunch on the way as you will be driven towards Lataguri. It is a petite village situated alongside Gorumara National Park. Reach your resort after covering approx. 108 km within 3 hours. Evening at leisure while enjoying a magnificent sunset. After, being served a delicious dinner, overnight stay at Lataguri.

Day 3: Jungle Safari, Suntalekhola, Rocky Island Sightseeing & Transfer to New Mal Jn./NJP/Bagdogra

After triumphantly possessing a ticket, get ready for a Jungle Safari, a Safari into the thick woods of Lataguri and Gorumara. Gorumara National is the host of more than 50 species of mammals, 300 species of birds, 20 species of reptiles and 30 species of amphibians. If you are lucky enough, you may get to see some of them. Get back to the resort again and then after having some rest, move for enjoying the scenic beauty of Suntalekhola and Rocky Island. First visit Suntalekhola, an alluring hamlet in North Bengal, popular for its astounding mountains, shimmering streams and orange plantations. Next, visit Rocky Island which is just a few kilometres away. Resided in the bank of river Murti, Rocky Island is a perfect destination to savour the green lush vegetation and countless scattered rocks and the captivating view of the daunting hills. After completing the sightseeing, you will be driven towards your preferred drop off points like New Mal Junction, NJP or Bagdogra with our skilled driver. Finally, after reaching your drop off point, Dooars Jaldapara Gorumara Trip for 3 days comes to an end but with countless cherish worthy memories.
