The Dooars or Duars are the alluvial floodplains in eastern-northeastern India and southern Bhutan that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin.

Jayanti is in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal in India. It is a forest village forming a natural boundary with the Bhutan hills, some 30 kms from Alipurduar. Jayanti is one of the last destinations in Dooars, often termed as the “Queen of Dooars” this heavely forested area is close to the famous Buxa Tiger Reserve. Although the jayanti river is mostly dry throughout the year, it shores of white pebbles add to the eternal beauty of the place.
Jaldapara is one of the most popular forests of Dooars. Jaldapara was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary back in 1943 for the protection of Wildlife, particularly single horned Rhinos. Recently in 2012 the forests of Jaldapara has been upgraded to the status of a National Park. Jaldapara is situated at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas in Alipurduar district in West Bengal. River Torsha runs through this forest sanctuary which is mostly covered with tall grasses. The Western side of River Torsha is called the Jaldapara and the Eastern side is known as Chilapata forests.
Latpanchar is a mesmerizing mirror of natural beauty covered with forest Cinchona plantation and oranges. It is 41kms distance from siliguri. It is located at the height of 4,500ft from sea level. It is at a distance of 13kms from kalijhora. It is popularly known as the Orange village for the Orange cultivation and production. Before reaching Latpancher the dark deep forest adds to the mystery of the place. The air remains heavy with overwhelming fragrance of flowers through all seasons. Latpancher is very popular for bird watchers also, the chirping birds welcome you while you heading towards the village.
